The game got started a little early in hopes of avoiding the approaching storm but that strategy failed when play was halted
about half-way through the first inning for lightning in the area. The video below only covers the innings from two on.
At about the 15-second mark there can be heard what sounds like thunder but it's actually just wind noise on the camcorder.
Play was suspeneded two more times later in the game with the girls being herded into the safety of the dugout each time. ~ PIAA LightningRules ~
Though the team suffered a couple of setbacks with recent losses at Bald Eagle and Glendale, this win at Huntingdon
now has the girls with a record of 6 wins & 5 losses. This is the best record for the team after 11 games since 2010.
Back then Clearfield had yet to enter the Mountain League and was playing a largely District 9 schedule with
a few outliers like Altoona, Hollidaysburg and Williamsport thrown into the mix. Clearfield beat Altoona three
times that season; twice on the regular schedule and once at the "Thunder On The Mountain" tournament at
Central Mountains's old field at Petty Park on the road to Renovo. They completed the season at 9-9.
