This was the Lady Bison' first trip to Altoona's completely rebuilt Softball field. It seems to be a nicely configured
and manicured facility, especially the big wide warning track up along the outfield fence. With that fence though,
all of eight feet tall, my cameras couldn't decide whether to focus on the chain link or on the players.
So, today's pictures are both few and mostly a bit fuzzy.
All eyes are on the sky.
"A.B", Freshman Alexis Benton hit her first High School career
home run in the 7th inning, easily clearing Altoona's new eight-foot
tall outfield fence. Given that there are still a few games left this
season and that "A.B." has three more years to look forward to,
we're hoping to see many more. But the first one, especially when
you're just a freshman, is the one to remember. Which makes it
extra difficult for me to confess that while reording the game that
my fingers got lost somewhere between the "record" button and
the "stop" button on the camcorder and missed the monumental
swat. I'm not planning on going anywhere, Alexis, and promise to
do my best to not miss another. My apologies.
This is an at-bat I didn't miss; vs. Bradford, 4-11-19 ~
